Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine landscaping and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and edging
• Maintain park cleanliness by collecting litter and servicing waste receptacles
• May assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, planting, and snow/ice management
• Inspect park facilities and report maintenance or safety issues
• Support setup and breakdown for park events as needed

Qualifications:
• Prior experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related work preferred
• Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Must be dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team

The Village of Monroe Board of Trustees is seeking qualified residents to serve on a newly established Ethics Board.

The Ethics Board will be responsible for advising Village officials and employees on ethical standards, reviewing potential conflicts of interest, and helping to uphold the integrity and transparency of Village government in accordance with the Village’s Code of Ethics and New York State law.

Responsibilities May Include:
• Issuing advisory opinions on ethical matters
• Reviewing and addressing complaints or alleged violations
• Promoting awareness and understanding of ethical standards
• Once established, Board will meet on an “as needed basis”

Qualifications:
• Must be a resident of the Village of Monroe
• Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to public service
• Ability to remain impartial and maintain confidentiality
• Legal, governance, or public service experience is helpful but not required

Part-Time Assistant Building Inspector III

The Village of Monroe is currently accepting resumes for a Part-Time Assistant Building Inspector III to perform fire and property maintenance inspections.

The ideal candidate shall be an active Certified NYS Code Enforcement Official or Certified NYS Building Safety Inspector or 3 years’ experience in construction, fire safety or firefighting as well as possess a valid NYS driver’s license.

Appointee will be subject to a background check, and will work 20 hours per week. Hourly salary is dependent on experience.
