Construction Update
Traffic light at Mapes Place and Spring Street
The traffic light at Mapes Place and Spring Street will be getting improvements to include a left-turn arrow for traffic traveling on Spring Street turning onto Mapes Place, as well as a “No Turn on Red” sign when turning right onto Mapes Place. This installation and implementation is in hopes of lessening delays in traffic along Spring Street.
This upgrade will help reduce delays and backups, improve traffic flow and efficiency, and support safer intersections.
Spring Street, Mapes Place, Carpenter Place, Maple Avenue
Starts Approx 5/28/26: For approximately the next three weeks, contractors working for Orange and Rockland Utilities will be installing gas mains.
Work may result in temporary traffic delays, parking restrictions, and construction-related noise during working hours.
Intersection of Still Road, Orange Turnpike, Pine Tree Road, and Stage Road
Starts Approx 6/29/26: The Village of Monroe is making improvements to the intersection with the goal to enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and create a more effective intersection for our community.
This project expected to be completed within 60 days
