Village of Monroe 9/11 Remembrance Service
Dear Neighbors and Friends,
This year marks the 24th Anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks,
and like in years past, the Village’s Remembrance Service will take place this
Thursday, September 11th, beginning at 6:00 pm, at the Millponds in the
Village of Monroe, with music provided by members of the Monroe-Woodbury
High School String Quartet and the Monroe-Woodbury High School Voice
Ensemble.
Beginning at 6:30 pm sharp, our 9/11 Ceremony will commence, to be led by
members of the Interfaith Clergy, along with members of our Emergency
Services and local Government Officials. We encourage anyone who would like
to attend this very moving reflection of music and remembrance to please join
us.
We stand united as a community, remembering the lives forever changed on
that tragic day. We honor the innocent lives lost, the families who continue to
carry their memories, and the heroes who showed unimaginable courage.
We also pause to remember those who have since passed as a result of the
events of September 11th, keeping their legacies alive in our hearts. May we
never forget their sacrifice, their strength, and the resilience that brought us
together.
Respectfully,
Neil S. Dwyer
Mayor
Village of Monroe
